Highasakite's 2014 debut Silent Treatment broke records in their native Norway, notching 94 weeks in the Top 40 to claim the longest consecutive run in Norwegian chart history. Now they're gearing up for the release of their sophomore album, on which they plan to take on the whole wide world. "The theme is war and terrorism," singer and songwriter Ingrid Helene Håvik explained in an email to The FADER. "Not the war at home, like Silent Treatment, but what is going on in the world right now. There are not many love songs on the album, because I haven't been in that state of mind for a long time."
That said, the first song Highasakite has shared off the album is kind of a love song. Titled "Someone Who'll Get It," it's a dark and pummeling pop song that finds her yearning for companionship. Send somebody to me, Håvik sings, someone who'll get it—get her, as she is. "I think ultimately, it’s a song about loneliness," she said. "It’s kind of acknowledging my crash and burn personality, and not necessarily wanting to change, but finding someone who’ll understand and be O.K. with that."
