"Honk Kong" draws from the expansive, slow-rolling branch of electronic music that became popular in the '80s: think the Miami Vice soundtrack. The synthesizers are patient and confident in their own power; the drums land with the force of a brick; Lushlife raps methodically, while Ariel Pink chips in a chirping, airy hook.
Last month, Lushlife unveiled a new collaboration with Killer Mike. Look for the MC's third album, Ritualize, on February 19. The entire project is produced by CSLSX.
