“Sit back, tune in and discover.”

The ability to introduce listeners to new music that they enjoy has become a key battleground for the various streaming services. Each platform attempts to make this process as frictionless as possible—either through mathematically precise playlists (Spotify, Pandora) or the selections of marquee artists (Apple Music) or both—so the listener does not have to put in any effort.

SoundCloud's new feature aims for similar territory. The service is billing "Stations" as an extension of the "Related Tracks" system that was already in place. According to a statement from the company, "A station can be generated from any track, search term, content stream or your Collection. Pull up the menu from any one of those four and select the 'Start Station' option. We'll pull from the 100 million plus tracks on SoundCloud to bring you an endless stream of awesome audio. Once you find a few stations you like, you can access them at any time in your Collection, along with your Likes and Playlists."

Stations is available for iOS and Droid. Learn more here.
