MK’s Latest Remix Is A Secular Hymn For The Dancefloor
The producer takes on RÜFÜS DU SOL’s “Say A Prayer For Me.”
"I’m excited for 2016," the DJ/producer MK told The FADER last year. "The remix requests that are coming in—there’s at least one a day. Sometimes they come in and they’re almost begging. I have to turn down so many because I’m doing my album."
But when he had an opportunity to remix RÜFÜS DU SOL's "Say A Prayer For Me," MK could not resist. "Sometimes I just know when I have to do a record," he explained to The FADER via email. "This was one of those times. The vocals are incredible."
In MK's version of "Say A Prayer For Me," these vocals are paired with a crisp, relentless beat. A long, high exhale drifts behind the hook, suggesting a man on the verge dancing on the edge of breakdown. Listen below, and look for the track this spring on Foreign Family Collective.
