To coincide with the release of Hannibal Buress's latest stand-up comedy special, Comedy Camisado, Sama’an Ashrawi recruited an impressive group of artists from a variety of fields to simultaneously praise and poke fun at the comedian. Ashrawi's roster includes Chris Rock, who serves as narrator, Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer of Broad City, a large number of musicians—Black Thought, Questlove, Thundercat, Flying Lotus, Robert Glasper, Drake, Jean Grae—and more.
According to the video's YouTube caption, "the entire process took nearly a year and was filmed in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, and New York City... Prior to filming, with a presidential theme in mind, Ashrawi wrote short vignettes that made reference to Hannibal’s stand-up material, and, once behind the lens, gave his subjects three topics to choose from: love, hate, and crazy. The result was varyingly sentimental and hilarious." Watch above.
