Robotaki Premieres His Remix Of Mansionair’s “Speak Easy”

The Canadian producer will also release new original music in 2016.

Montreal-based Robotaki (aka Preston Chin) has been one of the most consistently evolving dance producers since his start in 2011, creating quality remixes for artists like Chilly Gonzales and DJ Shadow. His latest flip for Glassnote-signed band Mansionair's "Speak Easy" is no different, trading the original's guitar-driven structure for thick, filtered synth patches without losing sight of lead vocalist Jack Froggatt's lilting vocal.

"This mix was a really cool experience to make because the original already had such an amazing melancholic quality to it, and I wanted to keep that in mind throughout," Chin told the FADER via email. "What resulted is a pretty emotionally diverse piece with ups and downs throughout." Robotaki also announced that this will be his last remix before releasing new original material in 2016.
