SoundCloud Unveils Subscription Service

SoundCloud shared details about its new subscription service this week. SoundCloud Go will be available in the U.S. for $9.99 a month ($12.99 for iOS users). The company suggests that signing up will give listeners access to an “expanded catalog,” presumably as a result of licensing agreements that SoundCloud reached recently with major labels—UMG in January, and Sony earlier this month. The service boasts a library of 125 million tracks. Subscribers will be able to listen without having to put up with ads, and they’ll also be able to listen offline.
