Along with scene elder Giggs (whose tribute is above), MC and producer Novelist was among the first grime artists to pay his respects on social media. Like MDOT, Novelist hails from the south London borough of Lewisham, and he knew the young artist personally.

On April 5, Novelist took his tribute a step further by sharing a new instrumental titled "Rest In Peace." The track's Soundcloud description elaborates: "This goes out to all my dead bros. Special shout out to my young donny MDOT who just passed."

With a colorful yet pared-back feel, the track is the latest in a series of new productions that Novelist has been sharing over the past week labeled "Ruff Sound Movement." "I'm trying to invent a new sound," he explained on Twitter. "The new U.K. underground sound." Hear more of it below, in recent tracks "Hoax" and "Caspar Riddim."
