The Avalanches Announce Reunion Shows

Spain, England, and Australia are the lucky countries.

It's been over a decade and a half since The Avalanches released Since I Left You in 2000, a masterpiece of sample art. Since then there's been a fair bit of talk about who could be on their follow-up record (Danny Brown? Ariel Pink?) and little actual music from their camp, save an old demo with David Berman of The Silver Jews. Fans held their breath when the band updated their social media accounts, and lo and behold, something's actually happening: The Avalanches are playing reunion shows this summer (as Pitchfork notes, the band last played live in 2007 and haven't DJed since 2011).

Their comeback begins at Primavera Sound in Barcelona on June 3 at the Parc del Fòrum and a closing party at the sala Apolo on June 5. Then it's off to London for Field Day on June 12, followed by a trip to Byron Bay in their native Australia at Splendour In The Grass. Will there be more? Who knows with these guys, so you better start figuring out how to get to one of these shows.
