Demo Taped Is Ready For Anything In The “Game On” Video

Internal conflict inspired the track.

Last week an 18-year-old Atlanta artist named Demo Taped quietly released "Game On," a waterlogged synthpop jam about anxiety that he purportedly mixed in his school library. Today, he's back with an accompanying video that mixes performance footage with summery imagery: palm trees, flowers, a rippling effect that suggests a light breeze on a pond.

"l wanted to write a song that showed my internal conflict throughout the years," he explained in an email to The FADER. "It's about love, fear, and nostalgia. The song shows both thought processes I had at the time. One is saying 'I can't take it' and brooding about lost love ('I know you don't want me'). The other part of me, the more recent thought process, says 'Game On' to whatever life throws my way!"
