"Figure It Out" features a remarkable vocal sample around the 35 second mark: an interjection of "always on my mind" that seems to be battling against everything else in the track flowing around it. Though the snippet is manipulated to sound like its borrowed from the '70s—bringing to mind classic '00s productions from Kanye West—it turns out be sourced from a relatively recent song from a band called We Are the Take. DJ Khalil and Rick Steel are responsible for the beat.
The video for French Montana's track arrived today. Kanye West and Nas are both featured on "Figure It Out," and the two artists were kind enough to show up for the video shoot as well. The clip is filled with airplanes—Montana raps while standing on a wing—and dirt bikes. Watch above.
