In an Instagram post this February following his appearance at a Section Boyz show in London, Drake claimed that he was "the first Canadian signed to [Boy Better Know]." Neither party has since spoken about the matter, leaving fans wondering whether it was actually possible that Drake had abandoned his Young Money contract to sign to an independent grime label on the other side of the world.

Today, in a new interview with London's Time Out magazine, BBK ringleader Skepta says that Drake has actually signed to his label. "We’re putting together an official worldwide BBK label," the MC says. "But we haven’t talked about how it’ll work yet. It’ll be separate to his existing contracts. Trust me, I am not gonna sue Lil Wayne."

A rep for Drake responded to a FADER request, but was not able to offer additional comment. Revisit a brief history of Drake's relationship with BBK here.
