Even if you're just now wiping the sleep from your eyes, you've probably heard the news: Boxing legend and Civil Rights activist Muhammad Ali has died. He was 74.

The outpouring of grief began shortly after midnight and has proved, above all, that Ali transcended sports: He was a symbol of dedication, victory, and charisma inside and outside the boxing ring and it's unlikely that we'll see someone of his caliber again.
