In honor the late artist’s birthday, Minnesotans are encouraged to wear purple.

In honor of what would have been Prince's 58th birthday, Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton has declared June 7 "Prince Day," Billboard reports. According to the declaration from the Governor's Office, the day will celebrate "Prince's artistry, music, and brand showcase his outstanding contributions to music and the arts and entertainment industry. The official statement also encourages Minnesotans "to wear purple on Prince Day in honor of The Purple One's enduring legacy." Read the full declaration from the Minnesota Governor's office here.
