Inkke — real name Russell Patterson — is a Glaswegian producer cut from the same glittering, technicolor cloth as elders like Hudson Mohawke and Rustie. And he's gearing up to release his Secret Palace EP on July 15 on the label that both call home: LuckyMe. Secret Palace is as magical as it sounds, weaving erratic grime synths together with low-slung Memphis basslines, and "Chores" is one of its stand-out club anthems.

"I started off by building up a jittery, choppy drum beat," Patterson said of the track in an email to The FADER. "I then added in the bassline and things were sounding pretty dark, so I decided to give the track a real uplifting, hyper-melodic side. The initial melody came to me while I was cleaning up my flat, that's why I called it ‘Chores.’" Hear "Chores" below, and pre-order Secret Palace here.
