Portland, Oregon musician Turtlenecked (a.k.a. Harrison Smith) makes music that sounds like if The Strokes were in a very pleasant k-hole. Turtlenecked's newest album, Pure Plush Bone Cage, is a twisted lo-fi trip, and it comes out August 19 on Portland label Good Cheer Records.

Turtlenecked shares "Mondrian" today. It's sweet, sad, anxious guitar-filled power pop over which Smith sings, Still just a pervert/ and I tend to revert/ to falling down. In an email to The FADER, Smith told us he wrote "Mondrian" in the shower. "It's an ode to Axe body wash and my inability to feel human emotion."
