Reports suggest that Prince bought the house that featured prominently in Purple Rain. The Minneapolis property was home to Prince’s character, The Kid, in the 1984 film. The Current states that NPG Music Publishing, a company that was owned by Prince and is currently under the control of the Bremer Trust owns the three-bedroom, two-bath home at 3420 Snelling Ave. in Minneapolis. NPG first took ownership of the property one year ago, in summer 2015. The Bremer Trust is an affiliate of the bank that provided financial services to Prince while he was alive. Prince owned over 200 acres of property in Minneapolis before his death in April 2016.
