Maxo Kream Descends Into A Drug-Fuelled Robbery In His “G3” Video

The rapper heads on tour with Danny Brown soon.

Maxo Kream released the very good Persona Tape last month, and today, the Houston rapper is premiering the video for "G3." The track has Maxo and his team on a robbery but also blends in details of the hellish effects of opiate addiction. His unfiltered account along with his flow's flat affect weave a raw and decidedly unglamourous listen, and the video follows suit, presenting the song's storyline with a few trippy twists.

In an email to The FADER, Maxo relayed how important a visual element is to his art. "I like painting pictures in my music, showing my fans who cannot relate to how I came up exactly what I'm talking about, or showing the people who can relate that we are the same. The 'G3' video is about how you could be so gone off these pills that you really don't know what's going on. People can be so fucked up and just be confused as hell."

Maxo will join Danny Brown and ZelooperZ on a North American tour beginning this August; tickets go on sale today. He'll be headlining a show at the Roxy in L.A. on Friday, July 29 as well.
