London Band Sälen Shot A Video On Their Phones And Made It Look Classic

For their stoner love song “The Drwg.”

September 12, 2016

London trio Sälen make songs about love and loss that sound so incredibly laid-back you almost miss the hissing passion at their center. In the synth-bubbling "Diseasey," they kicked a no-good lover out of bed to the tune of a summer pop jam, and on their latest single "The Drwg," they declare love in the breeziest of choruses: You're the drug that I'm in love with/ You're the way that I waste my time. Their approach to making a visual for the track was similarly chill. As the band told The FADER over email, "We had a £200 budget for a video so we hired an '80s BMW and shot the whole thing on our iPhones." Watch the windswept, glamor-tinged result in the player above.
