NFL Bans Kanye West’s Yeezy Cleats

DeAndre Hopkins was fined $6,000 for wearing the cleats on the field.

Kanye West and adidas ventured in the American football market recently with the release of the Yeezy 350 and 750 cleats. The footwear was announced via social media posts from NFL stars like Von Miller and DeAndre Hopkins, who wore the cleats on the field during their respective opening games for the 2016-2017 NFL season.

However, it appears that the venture on the football field has been cut short for Kanye West and adidas. As ESPN's Sarah Barshop reports, the NFL fined Hopkins $6,000 for wearing the cleats last week. The cleats run counter to the NFL's uniform policy by not having a solid base color. Hopkins told ESPN that he would refrain from wearing the cleats in the future unless, "Kanye wants to pay the fine."

Representatives for adidas and the NFL were not immediately available for comment.
