On Thursday night, Skepta won the 2016 Mercury Prize for his album Konnichiwa, beating out David Bowie, Radiohead and more. He becomes the first grime artist to win the award since Dizzee Rascal in 2003, and after celebrating with his crew, he took the stage for an emotional speech. "I've been trying to do this and work out this music for so long," Skepta told the crowd. He went on to thank "my mum and dad, and all of my friends' mums and dads."

Skepta's parents, who joined him on stage to accept the award, were all smiles as their son accepted the award, and his mother even performed a celebratory dance. "Shout out to my mum," Skepta continued in his acceptance speech. "I love you – you are the reason. I wouldn’t be here without you so thank you very much mum, you can dance as much as you want.”

The internet couldn't get enough of Mrs. Adenuga and many users are showing their appreciation.
