At a Mykki Blanco show, there’s (nearly) as much to see in the audience as on stage. At his London show this week — presented by The FADER X Metropolis music — the rap artist galvanized the XOYO crowd, moshing with them in an impromptu circle pit and weaving through them mid-set to leap on the venue’s bar. Performing a few Blanco classics as well as cuts from his latest album Mykki, he wore a tousled blonde wig which added extra height to his 6’2” frame, as well as diamante jewels on his nipples, and black leather gloves that seemed part opera, part abattoir.
The diverse fans in attendance peacocked in a little more of an understated way, cozying up on this cold evening in big bombers and boldly printed sportswear that was easily shrugged off to show some skin.
