Drake Breaks Michael Jackson’s Record With 13 American Music Award Nominations

Rihanna is nominated for seven awards, and Beyoncé is nominated in four categories for the awards show.

On Monday, the American Music Awards announced their list of nominees. Drake broke a 32-year record for most American Music Awards nominations, scoring 13 nods, including Artist of the Year, Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Album, Favorite Rap Artist, Favorite Rap Song and Favorite R&B song, and more. Michael Jackson previously set the record in 1984 with 11 nominations.

Rihanna is the second most-nominated artist with seven nominations, while Adele and Justin Bieber are each nominated for five awards. Beyoncé has been nominated in four categories. See the full list of nominees here.

The American Music Awards be broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on November 20 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
