In September, Skepta won the Mercury Prize for his Konnichiwa album, becoming the first grime MC to win the prize since Dizzee Rascal in 2003. In the week following the award, it was reported that Konnichiwa's sales had increased 226%. This bump may have just helped the London artist reach a chart milestone; Skepta took to Instagram on Monday to announce that Konnichiwa, released in May, has reached the 100,000 sales mark and been certified gold in the U.K.
