During the 2016 U.S. election campaign, many artists and celebrities from all over the world were firm in their condemnation of the Republican candidate Donald Trump. FADER cover star YG even named a song and a tour "Fuck Donald Trump." A long list of public figures, from from Kodak Black to the Empire cast to Kim Kardashian to Beyoncé, openly endorsed Hillary Clinton, who was widely predicted to win the election. But in a dramatic turn of events, in the early hours of November 9, Trump was elected 45th president of the United States.
