Bernie Sanders was a guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night. The Senator was on to promote his new book, Our Revolution, but ended up holding something of an autopsy on the election alongside Colbert. In summary Sanders called on those disillusioned with President-elect Trump to stand together going forward and make their voice heard.
"Democrats should not be losing to a candidate who insults so many people, who wants to give huge tax breaks to the top and who rejects climate change," Sanders said. "How are we losing these elections? Something is fundamentally wrong and what I'm trying to do now is to bring about structural changes in the democratic party so that it becomes a grassroots party."
In a second clip, which you can see below, Sanders continues, "Now more than ever, it's our revolution. The Democrats cannot continue to be run by what I call a 'liberal elite.' Our job right now is get involved heavily into the political process. When millions of people stand up and fight back we will not be denied."
