Bossman Birdie And JME Go Hard In The Video For “My Yard”

The grime pioneers pay homage to where they came from.

In the U.K., blue plaques are used to mark places of historical significance, through their connection to a famous person or event. There's one on Charles Dickens's old house, for example. In the low-riding new tune from original Meridian Crew member Bossman Birdie and Boy Better Know MC JME, the pair argue that their yard — aka Tottenham, north London — is worthy of a plaque too.

Fittingly, the sleek monochrome video for the single shows them cruising around the streets that made them. "I wanted the visual to pay homage to the area where it all started for myself and JME," Bossman told The FADER in an email. JME added, "I've been making music all my life, it's what I love to do and what I do best, so when I die, put a blue circle plaque on my yard." Watch the video above.
