On January 27, XL Recordings will release New Gen, an album of songs from emerging grime and hip-hop artists from across the U.K. Today, GRM Daily has shared "Jackets," a new video starring members of the 67 crew: Liquez, Dimzy, and LD. The rappers prowl across their neighborhood, smoking up, and daring anyone to cross their path through Teflon-coated bars.
According to Mixmag, the New Gen album was inspired by a YouTube playlist entitled "New Gen," curated by GRM Daily editor Caroline Simionescu-Marin, who's now an A&R at XL. The label said in statement: "[The album] serves as a timely snapshot of London's burgeoning underground music scene, as well as an introduction to those who may have missed these exciting young artists until now." A previously released track "Ring The Alarm" features Avelino and Tiggs Da Author, and you can watch the video here.
