Two years ago, west London MC K9 released his debut mixtape Mad In The Cut. Production on the hard-as-nails tape came from then-rising producers Dark0, MssingNo, and Visionist. Since then he has maintained a live presence around London, playing at Kamixlo's Bala Club and Evian Christ's Trance Party among others.

Today, December 7, he returns with the Mad In The Cut follow-up. The nine-track Mad In The Cut 2 is once again shaped by production from Dark0, Visionist, and MssingNo who deliver collaborative reinterpretations of tracks by Lorenzo Senni, 808 Mafia, and more.

K9's gruff and dark flow remains striking with his nihilistic take on life sending chills down the spine. There's new sides to the MC on show too, particularly on the lighter and more melodic "Servin."

Speaking to The FADER via email, K9 explains that "the project represents a mixture of dreams and nightmares with real life, a manifestation of my inner demons."

The tape hits just as hard as K9 ever did and can be downloaded for free. Take a listen to Mad In The Cut 2 below.
