Black Lives Matter has launched a new website, BackingBlackBusiness.com, designed to help users find and support black-owned businesses. A beta version of the site dropped today, along with a statement from BLM's co-founder Patrisse Cullors.

“Black-owned business have long been a staple in the Black community providing jobs, economic security and a somewhere for us to go and feel seen and safe,” said Cullors. “In these uncertain times, we need these places more than ever.”

Created in collaboration with ad agency J. Walter Thompson, the site effectively functions as a directory. After signing on, you're prompted to enter your location (or allow it to be detected), and the businesses closest to you appear on a map. Users can also filter by type of business and look up black-owned online retailers and non-profits.
