Chance The Rapper posted a few thoughts on American presidents this afternoon on Twitter, after sharing a video in which he and other public figures describe a moment when the presidency of Barack Obama affected them deeply (for the Chicago rapper, it was when he pardoned huge numbers of non-violent prisoners).

Chance ranks Obama as "the greatest president in the history of the United States" (an opinion also shared by scholar Ta-Nehisi Coates in his piece "My President Was Black.") For Chano, Obama whips "slave owners" like George Washington, and is "definitely better than Nixon/Reagan." As for Abraham Lincoln, Chance says he's "Please don't tell me 'Lincoln freed your ancestors' 😂😂😭😂😭 I'm too woke for all that." Perhaps he's been reading Howard Zinn?
