Drake recently called into Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari's "Coach Cal" podcast for a rare interview about his beginnings on Degrassi, his upcoming More Life playlist project, and his plans to get back into the acting game in the coming year.

Drake opened the interview by telling Calipari the story of the first time he ever smoked weed, which happened to be right before his first audition for Degrassi. "I wanted to fit, I wanted to be cool. It was a couple hours before my first audition for Degrassi," he said. "I was so angry at myself — I was in tears. I thought I had thrown my whole life away."

Though the project still doesn't have a release date, Drake told Calipari that More Life will be a playlist project in collaboration with Apple Music "To keep people excited, give them new music, let them know I’m still hungry." He continued, "I’m doing it to be remembered as a forward thinker."

When asked about his future in acting, Drake told Calipari that he plans to return to the craft in the coming year. "Acting is another thing that I just can’t wait to really dive into," he said. "I think after I release More Life, which is this playlist I’m working on and finish this tour, I think I’m going to really start to position myself in the acting world and, hopefully, take some great roles."
