Gussy’s “Mornings” Video Will Bring You To Tears

In tough times, it's important to be strong but not ignore how much you're hurting. Acknowledging and accepting your sadness is an important part of standing up for yourself. That mix of frailty and power is omnipresent in the video for Gussy's "Mornings." In the clip, the young Sydney artist dances to their twinkling pop song, in gorgeous looks they designed themselves. In bed and out of it, Gussy is powerful, yet still wounded from a fight the night before. Their intense gaze cuts through you and it's pretty impossible to look away.

In an email to The FADER, Gussy explained the message behind the song. "The song and video are about fighting of all kinds, and trying hard to think of new ways to make up," they said. "The feeling of waking up in the morning after a fight — it's like that everyday at the moment, living in the world".
