18-year-old AMA LOU makes minimalist pop, foregrounding her husky vocal against slow-moving bass on her first two singles "TBC" and "Not Always." On her latest, "Said It Already," she kicks up the pace: her vocal prowls forward over slow, sinister claps in the verses, breaking into a run over the skippy percussion of the chorus.

The north London artist explained in an email to The FADER, "'Said It Already' pays homage to the voice of a younger generation. It's a play on the tension that is created during the sometimes complicated transitional period of old to new, and youngens being forcefully told what to do when the world has changed." She added, with tongue firmly in cheek: "The song isn’t heavily cast in seriousness, but surely does carry the ponderosity of my own belligerent humor." Listen below, and see her live in London on April 4.
