"Dance music also has the power to get people to connect together without having to talk because of something called groove," Marie Davidson told The FADER last year. In her music video for "Adieu Au Dancefloor," the Montreal electronic musician stays solo as she capers around an empty club space, her body traced in neon and silhouetted by a spotlight. The clip is directed by John Londono, who shot the visuals for "Vanessa" by Grimes.

Davidson called the song "a tongue in cheek comment on night life and club culture" in an email to The FADER. "The lyrics, like most of what I write, are inspired by my personal life as much as my life as a performer. The party scene was at the beginning a place for me to have fun, I eventually got tired of it and felt the urge to wave goodbye to it, at least symbolically, through this song where I come to terms with some of my demons."

Marie Davidson's excellent new album Adieux Au Dancefloor is out now. Check out her tour dates below.
