“Daydreaming about diamond rings/ because right now I don’t have a thing to my name.”

Philly-born pop maven Brayton Bowman is readying his 22 Minutes Later mixtape and today, he's dropped off “The Second I’m Rich,” a 90s-inspired cut about all the fantasies of making it big. The song features a tight bridge and a hushed breakdown that Max Martin could be proud of.

Bowman told The FADER that he started writing the song during a smoke session in Barcelona, using 24 karat golden rolling papers he received as a gag gift from producer MNEK. When Bowman started to rant about his goals and plans for the future, MNEK encouraged him to hit the studio.

"No one had ever gotten me to pull a concept right from my day to day life so effortlessly and for that I’ll be forever grateful to Uzi.” he said. "This tune was sort of the missing piece to the puzzle of 22 Minutes Later. We had written everything else for the project (except the intro) and this record just tied everything together. It's arguably the most honest piece of music I've ever been a part of & I feel honored to get to finally share it with the world."
