Future has proven his prolificacy time and time again, but, when he announced that he would be releasing another studio album just seven days after his 17-track, self-titled record, it still came as a surprise. In an interview with Zane Lowe, which aired on Beats 1 on Thursday, Future explained why he decided to release the albums back-to-back and how this new album shows a different side of Future as an artist.

"HNDRXX is super personal. This is the Honest album that I was supposed to be honest about," Future told Zane Lowe, referencing his sophomore studio album. "This is me opening up and just letting it all out so I can just move past it. Certain things don't have to speak on it again."

Future also discussed the challenges of balancing music and fatherhood: "I understand my position as a provider, and I understand my role as a dad also, you know? I gotta be able to slow down sometimes and that’s me taking off and planning my schedule out more," he said. "Everybody wanna be the best dad ever. I’m just realizing that I’m just not perfect."

Future's HNDRXX album will premiere on Thursday night at 10 p.m. EST on DJ Esco and Future's FREEBANDZ Radio. Watch the second part of Future's interview with Zane Lowe above.
