Jay Z To Co-Produce The Film Adaptation Of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In The Heights

Harvey Weinstein announces Jay Z will be one of six producers bringing the musical to the screen.

Jay Z, who recently gave a rare interview to on Frank Ocean, will reportedly co-produce Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In The Heights for the big screen. The Tony Award winning musical, which follows the lives of Latino characters living in the New York neighborhood of Washington Heights, was first performed back in 2008.

According to Page Six, studio executive Harvey Weinstein broke the news of Jay Z's involvement during his pre-Oscars party on Sunday, February 26.

Jay Z signed a deal with the Weinstein Company in September last year. Jay Z will be one of six producers on the film with Hamilton creator Miranda stating that shooting begins in the spring.
