Kerry Washington To Adapt The Mothers As A Film

The Hollywood Reporter reported today that Kerry Washington will be producing the adaptation of Brit Bennett's debut novel, The Mothers, for Warner Bros. The novel was released in October and quickly became a New York Times bestseller. Bennett will also be writing the screenplay for the project.

The Mothers tells the story of a teenager, Nadia, in a black Christian enclave in southern California and a secret of hers that affects the community for years.
