After gaining a loyal online following on SoundCloud over the past year, Smokepurrp inked a deal with veteran executive Todd Moscowitz's new label Alamo Records last week. To celebrate the deal, the South Florida rapper has shared "Woah," the first song from his upcoming DEADSTAR mixtape. The track finds Purrp floating over TM88 and Southside's dark instrumental.

"On this project, I tried a lot of new different things and sounds," Smokepurrp told The FADER over email. "DEADSTAR has no boundaries. I tried touching any sound I can touch, and I really don't care how people feel about it cause I myself feel like I am the tape. The tape is really me."
