Report: Shooting at Ohio Nightclub Leaves One Dead, 15 Injured

Following an alteraction, multiple shooters opened fire at Cameo nightclub early Sunday morning in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Fourteen people were injured and one person was killed early Sunday morning, March 26, when a gunman opened fire at Cameo nightclub in Cincinnati, reports CNN and WLWT5 News.

The shooting happened just after 1 a.m. at the hip-hop club on the city's east end killing one person and leaving 14 victims, according to the Cincinnati police's twitter account. Police report there was only one shooter, who is still at-large, and a manhunt is underway for his or her arrest.

Extra security was called to the DJ booth just before shots rang out, noted WLWT5. Many of the victims were taken to local hospitals, several with life-threatening injuries.

Cincinnati's Assistant Police Chief Paul Neudigate called the shooting a "chaotic crime scene," adding that hundreds of party-goers were inside the nightclub at the time of the incident. Many of the witnesses fled for their safety but those that remained are be interviewed by police, said Neudigate.

"Motives remain unclear but there are no indications this incident is terrorism related," said Neudigate in a tweet.

Update, 3/26/17: As of 10:15 a.m., Cincinnati city officials say a conflict between two or more people on Saturday intensified into the night and lead to the shooting at Cameo Nightclub, which has a past of gun violence, reports The AP.

Police now believe that gunfire began around 2:20 a.m., not 1 a.m.

As of 11:30 a.m., Cinnicianti officials held a press conference concerning the shooting at Cameo Nightclub. Police now believe that there were multiple shooters inside the crowded nightclub, leaving one 27-year-old man dead and 15 injured, reports The AP.
