It's not been a good month for airlines. On Friday, a video surfaced showing a mother standing at the front of a plane crying while holding her baby. She's recorded saying, "You can't use violence with a baby. Just give me back my stroller," as she tries to leave the plane. Then a male passenger gets up to demand the flight attendants name. The attendant confronts him and the two almost get into a fight.
The video was recorded by Surain Adyanthaya, another passenger on the plane, who posted it on Facebook, which you can view above.
As the incident has gained nationwide attention, American Airlines released a statement saying that they are investigating the incident, and the flight attendant has been suspended: "The actions of our team member captured here do not appear to reflect patience or empathy, two values necessary for customer care. In short, we are disappointed by these actions. The American team member has been removed from duty while we immediately investigate this incident.”
According to reports from the Washington Post, the woman and her child ended up boarding another flight, and was upgraded to first class for the remainder of their journey.
