Big Sean shared the new video for "Light" featuring Jeremih on Friday, and it takes a more serious tone than what we've come to expect from the rapper.

In the video, Sean shepherds the bodies of innocent people who have been killed into a white van. In one instance, a young girl gets caught in the crossfire of a drive-by shooting. In another, two teenage black boys are shot by police officers while walking home from a birthday party. Lastly, a woman in a hijab is stabbed on the street. In the hopeful last moments of the video, all of the victims ascend to the sky in their own beams of light.

In a message posted to Twitter, the rapper wrote that while "Light" is not a single, it's a song that is deeply personal to him.

"“We shot this video a couple months ago and sucks to see these scenes are still consistently playing out in real life...even down to this week," he wrote, alluding to the killing of 15-year-old Jordan Edwards by the police.
