Partner, a duo formed in Sackville, New Brunswick, has built a reputation beyond Atlantic Canada for its effervescent garage rock and killer shows. But Josée Caron and Lucy Niles's great sense of humor is on full display on "Everybody Knows," Partner's first single from the upcoming debut album In Search Of Lost Time. The track is a stomper in the vein of Dinosaur Jr., a retrospective of a particularly heightened episode of self-awareness thanks to a few too many bong hits. For those of us who know what it's like to have the contents of our wallets spill everywhere as we try to buy three large bags of Flamin' Hot Cheetos, the addled narrative of "Everybody Knows" offers a specific kind of liberation wrapped in a blast of guitar noise and lovely harmonies.

Over email, Partner shared a few thoughts on the song's target audience. "Have you ever watched Half Baked full baked eating half baked ice cream? Maybe you know someone who has. Either way, this song is for you. A cautionary tale...a celebration of indignity. Just in time for summer. This is not an endorsement of kids blazing. The characters of this song are full adultz. Love, Partner."

Partner's debut album In Search Of Lost Time is out September 8 via You've Changed Records. Check out summer tour dates below.
