Elon Musk Quits Trump’s Presidential Councils

After the President withdrew from the Paris Agreement, Musk announced his departure.

Just hours before President Trump officially announced the United States' from the Paris Accord, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, tweeted that he will be leaving the Trump team. The departure was a follow through on his threat that he would leave if the President withdrew from the agreement.

"Am departing presidential councils," wrote Musk. "Climate change is real. Leaving Paris is not good for America or the world."

Musk advised the president on two different councils. One, called Strategic and Policy Forum, was Trump's primary business council. The other council Musk served on dealt with manufacturing jobs.
