Aminé's star has been rising fast, thanks in large part to the success of his 2016 single, "Caroline." But on his most recent single, "Turf," the Portland artist returns to the mind state of his hometown, as he laments, "I look around and I see nothing in my neighborhood / Not satisfied — don't think I'll ever wanna stay for good."

Now, as part of Vevo LIFT's "Stripped" series, Aminé has brought a live performance of the track to his local supermarket. At the end of the performance, he's joined by R&B legend Charlie Wilson for the chorus.

"'Turf" is an ode to my hometown and my upbringing," Aminé told The FADER over email. "Always wanted to jam in a supermarket — having Uncle Charlie there was the cherry on top." Watch the "Stripped" version of "Turf" above.
