Nicki Minaj was awarded the key to her hometown of Queens, New York on Monday. The rapper received the honor from Queens Borough President Melinda Katz for "outstanding career achievements in music."

Minaj was unable to receive her plaque in person, but was effusive on social media, where she called the key "a pleasant surprise" and that she hopes to see Katz in the future.

Most recently, the rapper was featured on DJ Khaled's album Grateful, where she and Alicia Keys featured on the track "Nobody," and on 2 Chainz's Pretty Girls Like Trap Music on "Realize."
