Dirty Projectors's "Cool Your Heart" is a glitchy, bubbling pop track from the band's February self-titled album. Mixpak's Dre Skull took the song — which was co-written by Solange and features DAWN's rich vocals — stripped it down, slowed the pace of the beat, and turned it into a tranquil, echoey dub tune.

"To me, the original version of 'Cool Your Heart' is a strong experimental pop song," Dre Skull wrote in an email to The FADER. "Approaching this remix, I basically decided to make a more dubby version. The first thing I did was put together a version that took away the experimental aspects of the original production. I then brought in some session musicians and worked on flushing out a version with a new basic skeleton. Once I was happy with that, I slowly started to play in the studio with different production techniques to try to find different evocative moments and I kept iterating and adding production ideas until I had something that felt right."
