Grizzle is a regular NTS Radio host, affiliate of the rowdy Manchester club night Chow Down, and producer of angular U.K. rap beats. With "Sermon," a glossy and bass-heavy new collaboration with north London MC ShaqyDread, he introduces his new EP Consort: four spacious, reflective club tracks, due October 20 on Liminal Sounds.

"I wrote 'Sermon' around the time I started getting deep into the D.I.Y. U.K. rap and drill that had been bubbling up at the margins while other sounds had the run of the mainstream," Grizzle explained in an email to The FADER. "What struck me most about the music was the total absence of a playbook or a distinct set of styles — rappers especially just sounded like they were experimenting with their voices and cadences almost from bar to bar. 'Sermon' was made with that energy in mind. When my EP got signed, I linked with Shaqy after seeing his Bl@ckbox freestyle, and in the space of one studio session he laced the track with all the richness and emotion I had wanted to leave room for."
