Visible Cloaks, the Portland experimental electronic group behind this year's excellent Reassemblage, have shared Permutate Lex, a new short animation. It's a collaboration with artist Brenna Murphy, who also designed visuals for the Visible Cloaks live show, as well as a precursor to Lex, the group's new album out December 8 on RVNG. The prismatic, fluid structures are soundtracked by remixed musical stems picked by Visible Cloaks from their albums Ressemblage and Lex.

"Permutate Lex was a cool opportunity to explore and expand the aesthetic world that we had woven around Reassemblage," Brenna Murphy told The FADER over email. "Visible Cloaks created a full track for the film which I listened to on repeat while building and rendering a cache of scenes. Then I spliced the sequences together to spin an abstract narrative of digital morphing and dematerialization — themes that we are generally interested in and also employ in our methods of production."
